The study takes place at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the Slovak University of Technologyin cooperation with the Faculty of Business Management of the University of Economics in Bratislava.

- the process of generating electricity from conventional and unconventional sources, transmission and distribution of electricity and control of the electricity system,
- modelling and simulation of processes in electrical power engineering, software and application of information technologies.
As an engineer on this programme, you will know
- Strategically plan, identify and analyse the key factors influencing the
energy sector, - formulate and implement economic strategies based on financial data,
- Effectively manage projects in the energy sector with emphasis on planning, implementation, monitoring, controlling and pricing,
- Analyse data from the external and internal environment, evaluate the impact of regulatory measures on the performance of energy companies and their impact on the asset management of energy companies,
- Solve problems independently, coordinate processes in teams and make decisions to innovate in a changing electricity environment,
- find and present solutions to problems in research, development, design and construction of electrical devices, equipment and power systems,
- effectively use software tools for electrical engineering and power engineering to solve practical and research tasks.

This field is ideal for you if you studied economics, management or energy during your undergraduate studies.
Make your study plan
There are 3 types of courses in the programme:
- compulsory – you have to take them,
- Compulsory electives – you must take a specified number of them and get a specified number of credits from them,
- selection – you choose the ones you like. They can be within your programme or another programme. You can even take a course from another faculty or college.
The recommended study plan is designed so that by completing it you will meet the requirements for graduation within 2 years.
But you can adjust it to suit you – you just have to follow the rules set out study regulations.
Course of study
To be able to enrol in the next year of the programme, you need:
- obtain at least 15 credits in the first semester of study,
- obtain at least 30 credits per academic year,
- pass all repeatedly enrolled courses,
- not to exceed in the following period the permitted length of study according to the study regulations.
Obtaining the degree of engineer
In order to successfully complete your engineering studies in the field of Economics and Management in the Energy Industry you must:
- complete all compulsory and the prescribed number of compulsory elective courses of the study programme,
- obtain 120 credits,
prepare and defend a thesis, - take the state exam.
Admission procedure
The deadline for submission of applications for the study programmes of the 2nd cycle of studies in Slovak language is from 15 November 2025 to 30 April 2026.
The basic condition for admission to the study programme of the 2nd degree at the faculty
of the UE in Bratislava is the university education of the 1st degree or the university education of the 2nd
degree in one of the study programmes of the study field of economics and management
completed no later than by 31. The sum of the number of credits for
the previous higher education degree by which the higher education degree was obtained
and the number of credits required for the proper completion of the 2nd degree study programme for which the
applicant is applying must be at least 300 credits. If the
applicant has completed a related field of study, he/she must, after admission to the programme of study, take
differential examinations in the course of his/her studies at the second cycle, within the scope determined by the dean of the
faculty concerned.
